Replay: Inventory management simplified - connected medication management
Replay: Inventory management simplified - connected medication management
Stock control is a time-consuming process, often hampered by clunky and manual tasks driven by systems which have not been significantly developed over the last 20 years. On top of the manual tasks, overall visibility of inventory is difficult, reliant on team members who can navigate a multitude of reports to get the data needed. All these challenges are exacerbated by the global increases in medicines supply shortages. Are you looking to implement an environment where inventory management and visibility is simpler yet more robust? Do you want to remove manual burdens, improve processes and move towards a paperless environment with intuitive technologies? Join us in this session to find out how Lister Hospital in the UK is making this transition.

Replay: Unlocking pharmacy potential - unit dose dispensing workflows
Today, most healthcare professionals experience care delays due to drug shortages. Visibility of stock levels is difficult, and nurses complain that preparing prescriptions on the ward is taking too much time. In this session, we will explain how healthcare professional education, combined with technology, traceability and reporting functions are critical factors in enhancing patient safety and unlocking pharmacy potential. We’ll describe complementary workflows including unit dose dispensing and/or patient specific medication management flows. Hear from users how this new way of working brings benefits to pharmacists, nursing staff and patients.

Replay: KHZG: Your route to a digital hospital - greater patient safety and efficiency / Opportunities and challenges
In this country-specific session, experts Prof. Dr Krämer and Prof. Dr Dierks will talk about the opportunities digitalisation has to offer German hospitals.
Under the German Hospital Future Act (Krankenhauszukunftsgesetz, KHZG), EUR 4.3 billion in funding will be made available to small and large hospitals nationwide.
Prof. Dr Dierks will provide you with an insight into how the law and funding opportunities work; what can be funded and which requirements need to be taken into account and fulfilled? Find out how to take advantage of the funding opportunities available to you here.
Prof. Dr Krämer will demonstrate, in a practical way, what digitalisation could look like in hospitals; what advantages does it offer; what is needed for a digital medication management system? From the pharmacy, via the ward, to the patient - the pharmacy keeps constant track of all medicines in the hospital. Take advantage of Prof. Dr Krämer's experience in your digitalisation project too!

Replay: Changes in medication management solutions - a chemical reaction
Pharma industry, patients, hospitals and community pharmacies are playing a key role in changes in medication management. A new model based on health services is yet to be designed to reinforce safety and easy access to medications and drugs. During this session, let’s explore how clinical pharmacy services, cost control and digital transformation allow a chemical reaction. What is the importance of Education and Connection in this change management and new organisational model? Gaining a better understanding of regulatory framework through concrete examples of interoperability between automated systems and pilots on AI to predict patient flow will help pharmacists achieve more with less and implement a closed loop approach.

Replay: Automated dispensing cabinets - impact on safety and efficiency
Automated dispensing cabinets connected to the computerised prescription were progressively implemented at the HUG [actually ~ 70]. The benefits of logistic efficiency and traceability have been demonstrated in ROI evaluations. Few studies are available on the impact of automated dispensing cabinets on dispensing errors and patient safety. Join this session to know more about the results of the largest study ever conducted including the observation of 8 wards with ADCs and 8 wards without ADCs. During this session, Prof. Pascal Bonnabry will demonstrate in which context the study was performed at HUG and highlight the main observations on efficiency and safety.

Replay: Leveraging data analytics - strategies to optimise efficiency, clinical & operational outcomes
In 2021, still far too many hospitals rely on manual processes and make decisions based on inaccurate metrics. Effectively harnessing data is a common challenge. Challenges like medication errors, inventory optimisation, narcotics management and diversion issues are facing an additional layer of complexity due to the pandemic. Leveraging hospital data to sustain those challenges, optimising our medication management process and becoming more efficient has never been so vital. In this session we will share how leveraging your own hospital data analytics can help you make evidence-based strategic decisions. An international panel of expert pharmacists and a hospital CEO will share their perspectives and best practices on how to accelerate automation within your hospital while leveraging existing investments. Replay: Connected inventory management for medical devices and supplies, MDR mandates
Replay: Connected inventory management for medical devices and supplies, MDR mandates
The automation and digitalisation of medication management processes is already a priority for healthcare systems today while high-cost medical devices and supplies are often managed manually across the hospital. A recent European study has shown that visibility into supply inventories is fragmented with limited possibilities to track and trace supplies and related costs. Stock control is often a time- and resource-intensive process.
Dr Poquet and Mr Kaya will share practical experiences on how digital technologies support the simplification and optimisation of the management of supplies, enable accurate charge capture and generate data to further improve spend and drive process efficiencies.
Dennis Black, the UDI Program Director at BD will join the Q&A session to provide information about the upcoming MDR regulation and share his global experience of working with Healthcare facilities to achieve compliant device traceability.

Replay: The National Cancer Information System (Ireland) - the provision of a national patient-centred, longitudinal, and accessible cancer care record
Deep dive into a country-wide connected approach to Cancer Care. Learn about expected outcomes, benefits, and challenges of implementing a single source of information across 25 hospitals in the Republic of Ireland. Back in 2013, in response to requirements identified by Medical Oncology Consultants and other healthcare professionals delivering cancer care services, a steering group was established to develop a framework for the procurement and implementation of a National Cancer Information System (NCIS) for the optimal and safe delivery of systemic cancer treatment, including e-prescribing and e-administration of chemotherapy in publicly funded hospitals. The NCIS will span 25 public hospitals in a single database and had its first go-live in 2019. It aims to provide a single access to patients’ cancer care, providing support for the recording of multi-disciplinary team meetings, chemotherapy prescribing, compounding and electronic administration and other patient documentation. BD Cato™ plays a key role in this new infrastructure, feeding information to the central repository about the end-to-end medication management process; prescribing-compounding-administration.
